Three UK soldiers killed in Afghanistan


LONDON: The ministry of defense said on Monday three British soldiers were killed in southern Afghanistan on Sunday by a man dressed in the uniform of the country's police force.

The defense ministry said in a statement on Monday that two of the soldiers were from the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, and one was from the Royal Corps of Signals.

They have not yet been named by officials.

The men were shot by a man wearing the uniform of the Afghan National Civil Order Police.

A total of 422 British troops have now died in Afghanistan since 2001.
